Chennai Monastic Visit – July 2022

Guidelines

•  The schedule for the 3-day event will include twice-daily group meditations, spiritual discourses, explanation of meditation techniques, personal guidance by YSS sannyasis. Kriya Yoga diksha for eligible devotees will be conducted on 25th July 2022. Devotees will receive details of the programme upon their arrival at the venue.

• Review of meditation techniques is for YSS Lessons students only. Kriya Yoga diksha is for eligible YSS Lessons students only and Kriya Yoga review is for YSS Kriyabans only. However, all interested family members and friends are welcome to attend the spiritual discourses and other programmes.

• Volunteers: To organize these functions, many devotee-volunteers will be required. Please mention if you are in a position to volunteer your services during the function. The Kendra will select volunteers for various areas of work and give further instructions

Things to bring:

• Please bring mosquito repellent cream and torch light.
• Please bring your Cosmic Chants book and meditation aids- cushion and armrest for your sadhana

• Registration counter will be open from Jul 22^nd onwards. Devotees arriving earlier can plan and complete their registration formalities in advance.

• Please plan not to arrive earlier than the evening of Jul 22^nd 4.30 PM or stay beyond Jul 25^th evening 6.30 PM.

• Children above 10 years of age are allowed to attend the programs. They may participate in technique review classes only if they are lesson members. Parents are requested to take care of their child’s safety as well help maintain silence within the premises when they are not attending any session at the main hall.

• Kriya diksha ceremony is scheduled on Monday, 25^th Jul 2022. If you are planning to receive Kriya diksha, please bring the approval letter sent to you from YSS Ranchi. Devotees who have received informal/ postal Kriya and wish to take formal Diksha can carry their Kriya cards and register at the “Kriya Registration” counter. Kriyabans who would like to attend Kriya diksha ceremony are requested to carry their Kriya cards.  

• Since there will be many activities occupying the full day during the function, we advise the devotees with fragile health not to attend the function.

• Polythene/plastic bags or any material that makes noise will not be allowed into the meditation hall. Mobile phones are to be switched off in the meditation hall. Please cooperate with ushering volunteers.

• Devotees are advised not to bring valuables/jewellery with them and they remain responsible for the safe keeping of these items.

• Recording of lectures or kirtans is not permitted. Nor should audio devices be played in dormitories where others may be disturbed. Taking photographs and video inside the function venue and pandals are also not permitted.

• Please plan to spend as much of your free time as possible during your stay here exclusively for your sadhana: in silence, study, meditation, and prayer.
