Launch of YSS Lessons in Tamil

We are very pleased to announce that the new edition of the Yogoda Satsanga Lessons is now available in Tamil, and enrolment is open!

On July 22, 2022, the Tamil translation of the new edition of the Yogoda Satsanga Lessons was released by Swami Suddhananda Giri at a special function in Chennai and the first copy of the Introductory Lesson was received by Padma Vibhushan Sri Rajinikanth, renowned actor, producer, philanthropist, and a Yogoda Satsanga devotee. Around 1,600 people attended this event and many others joined via a livestream.

The programme began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Swami Pavitrananda then gave an introduction to Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS), its Founder and Gurudeva Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, and the YSS Lessons.

Swami Suddhananda began his talk by reading out a letter from YSS/SRF President Sri Sri Swami Chidananda Giri. Through the letter Swami Chidanandaji sent his blessings and appreciation for the volunteers who helped make the launch of the YSS Lessons in Tamil possible. An excerpt from the letter read: “Guruji said, ‘When I am gone, the teachings will be the guru,’ and how joyous he must be on this day when through the Tamil translation of the Lessons his soul-liberating teaching will now become available to many more devotees across India. Through the wisdom imparted in these sacred Lessons and the sincerity of your hearts, all doors are open to you to deepen your relationship and communion with the Divine.”

In his talk, Swami Suddhananda highlighted the importance of Kriya Yoga and through its daily practice, as given in the YSS Lessons, how we can attain higher levels of consciousness and ultimately realize God.

Swami Suddhananda then released the YSS Lessons in Tamil, and handed over the first copy of the Introductory Lesson: ‘Highest Achievements Through Self-realization’ to the chief guest Sri Rajinikanth. Reading out a few inspiring passages from this Lesson, Swamiji described the content of the Lessons. A short video demonstrating the latest version of the YSS Lessons App was played out.

Speaking at the event, Sri Rajnikanth remarked that while several organizations could be over 100 years old like YSS, what made YSS a long-standing organisation was the presence of Truth in its teachings. He said, “Even in the Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the techniques of meditation are not explained; but it is Paramahansa Yoganandaji who gave a detailed explanation about them in his Yogoda Satsanga Lessons.” He motivated the audience by sharing that he doesn’t miss his meditation, in spite of his busy schedule. All the Masters are waiting, he said, to help us, but in order to receive their help we have to get ready and the way to do that is given to us in these Kriya Yoga teachings. He encouraged the audience to use this opportunity to study the YSS Lessons which can bring joy and happiness to their lives.

Later, many attendees enrolled for the Tamil Lessons, and many purchased YSS literature in Tamil at the venue.
